    What can Outlook do?

I am presently using Thunderbird for email, and considering a switch to MS Outlook.
I know Outlook has lots of features Thunderbird is missing, the Diary (the Lightening add on is a joke) and you can receipt emails.
What I would like to know is can Outlook return an email to a sender unread, just like I can refuse delivery of a real mail item?
If I make the change, how easy (or hard, or impossible) is it to move my current emails from Thunderbird to Outlook?

I'm not sure about the replying back unread. You might want to check out the Rule feature and see if that will help. You could always just tag it as junk so it will go into your junk. As far as moving from Thunderbird to Outlook, there should be some option in Thunderbird that allows you to export your email to a .PST file. Outlook can import .PST files. You may have to do some manual mappings but I think it should work fairly well.

    Hi xero...Further to sammyslinger's info...
    - Export messages and folders from Thunderbird to Outlook / Outlook Express / Windows Mai

I personally have not tried this method as I've never had to import mail from TB to Outlook but it sounds as though it works.

Also some info on Managing PST files in Outlook...
    - How to manage .pst files in Outlook 2007, in Outlook 2003, and in Outlook 2002

@townsbg...It might be helpful in the future to actually ask the question instead of just using "???". I believe (hopefully I'm not just flapping my gums) that xero might that he copied sammyslinger's reply into Notepad to have it at a later date. I myself use Notepad extensively (when I'm using a Windoze PC) to create notes for myself...I add links to websites for future viewing, BB Code (the code this site uses), notes from web pages as I'm surfing, etc.
