I've tried twice now to install SQL Server 2008 but each time I get the error below:

Does anyone know what thats means and how I successfully install it? Install terminated after that and said that setup finished but with errors. Now the management studio runs but it won't let me log in and not all of the services will run. When I try to log in I get this error:

I should probably add that in between install 1 and 2 I tried to repair the installation but but it should that it can't be repaired and must be reinstalled.

In case it helps the service that couldn't be started is SQL Server Agent (MSSQLSERVER).

I hope that someone can help me because I don't know whats going on. I am running Vista SP 1.

If the error were after install some suggest the latest service pack SP1:

No. It is the full Standard developer edition through MS DreamSpark. I tried google before but I didn't get any where. Everything I saw seemed to be about updates that weren't sucessfull but not about original installations but I'll look through those.
