Backing up dual boot operating system.
On my wifes laptop we run dual boot Windows xp/Ubuntu. I am gonna be installing another hardrive on it. We run IBM's Simple Backup in Windows Partition for backup software. I've used it before on my desktop and am aware it just backs up all files and not the O/S. She has the Windows XP disk. My question which I think I know the answer to is will the backup software just copy the files on the Windows Partition and not the Linux one. I figure yes but am just looking for feedback to see if I'm right.

Well yes anything you want backed up just drag onto a backup drive or CD. Im not too sure how IBM's Simple Backup works but i know with Acronis you can take an exact image of your drive and save it to another hard drive.
OffTopic: I like that quote about light and sound in your sig.

Thank you Jesse for the compliment on the sig. I figured that only the windows side will be copied. Simple Backup came with the DVDRW from IBM that I installed on Desktop. It'll copy everything down to the icons and wallpaper last used and screensaver like acronis but you better have a Windows install disk ergo 2000/XP or Vista to start of with. after that you just install CD or DVD and take off from there. I wish I could find some software just like it that would work with Linux. There probably is some. I'm just not aware of it yet and with Linux nothing is simple if you are used to Windows because Linux works different.
