I have purchased a MAXTOR Personal Storage 3200. How do I set it up to store at a certain time each day?? Also how do I know it is storing/backing up. Sorry I am an old git Mike Daniels

I think jephree was refering to backup software.If you don't have any this is a good free one to use.

Yes you need software. XP Pro has a backup utility but it is very limited.

I have not used anything other than GHOST from Norton which is @ $70 I think and otherwise I do not recommend Norton software but GHOST is very popular.

Within the program you will find a Scheduler to schedule your backup time every day.
