    Winzip.

    Hi.

I have downloaded an evaluation copy of Winzip. When I attempt to extract a zip file I get an error message.

I highlight the file, R-click and highlight "Extract to folder", at which stage the address to where I want the files to go appears. I click on that address, the Winzip window appears and I then click on the "evaluation" button. Then I get the error message which says:-
    ACCESS IS DENIED.
Unable to create directory: C:/Program files/Google/Google sketchup 6/plugins

Can anyone explain what I am doing wrong, and what I have to do. Many thanks.

    Regards Gary.

    Hi

I have a program called SketchUp. It's a program I use to draw and plan furniture. You can get plugins for this program, and some of them are in Zip files.

Can someone explain to me how I can un-zip these files and put them into the SketchUp plugins folder. Please.

    Thanks for your help.
    Gary.

First off it depends on both the plugin and SketchUp version.

Many plugins are only for the Pro version of SketchUp and many plugins themselves require purchase.

Is your SketchUp Free or Pro?

    What is the exact plugin?

Have you tried extracting outside of the program then importing?

And just by the way after your 40 day trial of WinZip is over it will no longer function without purchase.

Zip Genius is a forever Free program that is just as good.

ZipGenius.it - Free zip utility for Windows that handles zip, rar, cab, 7-zip archives and CD-ROM ISO9660 image files

    Thanks for your reply jepfree.

I have the free version, (Google SketchUp 6)

Surprise, surprise, the plugins where all freebies.
What I did do was open the zip files with Winzip, then dragged them into the plugins file. They seem to be working.

I have now un-installed Winzip, and installed ZipGenius.

Thanks again for your help and time.
    ATB, Gary.
