How do i copy a dvd to pc then burn to another dvd

Hi, Im trying to work out how to put a dvd movie which i have previously converted from an avi file to play on my dvd player back on to the computer so i burn another copy of it as i only have one dvd drive.
I have tried to copy the dvd back to computer but when i open it after it has saved to my desktop, it has 2 folders inside one saying "AUDIO_TS" and the other "VIDEO_TS" . The audio one is empty and the video one has .BUP .VOB etc files in it?????

The best way of doing this is by saving the disk as an image and then recording that image to another disc.

The method of doing this may vary between DVD burning software, but here are the steps to do it in Nero Express:

    Start Nero Express
Choose Copy Entire Disc in the Menu.
On the next screen change the source drive to your DVD drive it isn't your DVD drive already.
Change the destination drive to Image Recorder.
    Click Copy.
A dialogue box will pop up asking you where you would like to save the Image File. Choose a convenient location and name, then click Save.
The program will now save the DVD as an image file. This will take some time.
When the process has been completed, go back to the Main Menu and select that you wish to Burn "A disc image or saved project"
Locate the Image file just created. Follow the steps to burn the image to disc.

If you don't have Nero, these features should be available in other DVD burning software, however the process may vary slightly.

Oh well that has saved you a purchase then, glad you got it sorted. It is a useful little function saving a disc image, but you have to remember that if the disc is copy protected it won't work.

I did a film project recently and saved the file for creating the DVD as a disk image, copied the disc image to a few computers so that I could use several to burn all the DVDs.

    And your very welcome
