    Need help.

    hah sorry i didn't know what to name my title.
    Anyway, I was wondering how to make a picture black and white then make something colored. for example, i take a picture of myself, and i wanna look like wendy from wendy commericials with red hair. how do i do this?

    Basically you need photo editing software then learn how to use it.

    Most popular is Adobe Photoshop. @ $500 US and up.

    Seems to me that you could use something as simple as MS Paint. Just save a copy of your color picture in B&W (Image | Attributes | Black and white). Open another Paint session with the original color pic. Cut the portion that you want in color, and carefully paste it over the B&W version.

    It'll only be as good as your skills at trimming (though you can magnify and touch up the edges) but it may be good enough for your purposes.

    [Edit: Well, I tried it, and MS Paint's black-&-white isn't adequate. But some other photo processing programs well under $500 will let you save in "greyscale" and should work.

    Indeed, as Jephree suggested, the GIMP is free and will do the job. However, as far as technique is concerned; Google for a 'hand tinting' tutorial...
