    Video Mixing sw

    Hai ! Good Day.

I use a camcorder to capture videos. Can we use it to shoot household ceremonies and parties or should I call a professional video grapher for this purpose. Please suggest me some best Softwares for Video editing or so called video and audio mixing, used by the Professionals.

    Thank you.

The best software (i.e. industry standard, but by no means 'cheap') would be either Adobe Premiere, or Avid.

I have been using Studio DV by Pinnacle for some years now and highly recommend it. You upload your video to your PC, edit the picture in many different ways, edit, change or add sound and then you can copy the end result to videotape or burn it to a DVD. I have looked at other editing software, but for a simpleton like me, I find Studio DV easy and quick.

I'm not certain if you would call Studio DV sophisticated, but it is certainly miles ahead of Windows Movie Maker. That does not mean that Windows Movie Maker is no good, but it is limited in what it can do.

Video eats up vast quantities of HD. Half an hour can devour 15GB, so your minimum HD would be 20GB with minimum 500MhZ CPU.

If you happen to reside in New Zealand - Auckland preferably - I would be happy to help you personally all that I can. Let me know where you are.

If not I could answer questions on this forum - not quite as good but I'm certain we could work something out.

Nice to meet you. I am Satish Kumar from India. Thanks a lot for your reply and for your keen interest to help me. You did not mention whether "Studio DV by Pinnacle" is Freeware or Shareware. Any how I shall try it. My best wishes to you yar.

    Bye!
