MS Outlook to memory stick to laptop

    Hi guys

I am trying to download all the data from MS Outlook 2000 from my PC to my laptop ( which has MS Outlook 2000 installed ), via a memory stick.
I think I have down loaded the necessary data to a pst file, that is now sitting on my desktop.
I have plugged in the 4gb stick into a usb port.
Please let me know if this is O/K to this point and where do I go from here?

    Thank you Brian

Yes, it's the PST file that you want. Copy it to the USB drive and then copy it from there onto the laptop. I generally like to create a new folder called "Email" within My Documents for PST files, email signatures, etc - this makes it all easy to find and easy to back up.

Open Outlook 2000 and, if I recall correctly, that version has the Personal Folders File (PST) option on the File menu. Select that option to create or open a PST file and then browse to wherever you saved the PST file on the laptop, e.g. \My Documents\Email\BrianOutlookMail.PST.

If you are going to set up email accounts in Outlook, you may wish to direct those accounts to store messages in this Personal Folder so that they are always all in the one place and can be backed up easily.

    Hope that helps
