    Wink sharing folders

Hi - Unsure whether this is the right forum to be in but I'm sure someone will re-direct me if not. I am hoping to be able to share some folders with a colleague (who lives elsewhere in our village) so that she can access them and edit files, add to charts etc. We are a very, very small charity so I am looking for the cheapest way possible but it must be easy as the said colleague is not very computer literate (even less so than I am). I don't really want to leave my computer on 24/7 can they be accessed whilst it is not running?

    Thanks for any help

Have you considered a web based solution. I've just had a little browse and this might be the sort of thing you are looking for. Let me know if that is any use to you.

    Hi Owen

Yes I have been looking at web based programs. The BT one was of interest until I found that one needed Office 2003 Professional, I am running Office 2000 Business edition. It would seem we would have to update at least to 2003 possibly 2007 - the latter has been a problem when tried in the beta edition because various colleagues all use 2000 and have difficulty reading files (I had to remember to send everything out in *.doc instead of *.docx) - don't forget I said they are not very computer literate. We may have to bite the bullet and pay for upgrades, which I know we can do somewhat cheaper being a charity but it is something I hesitate doing unless absolutely necessary. We may have to seek a grant for doing so as we lurch from funding crisis to funding crisis - but do manage to keep our heads above water and I would hate to prejudice that situation. Many thanks for that suggestion, I will continue to seek any other possibilities.

No. Computer has to be running and connected to the network/Internet for remote access to work.

You might want to check out DriveHQ - similar to the BT offering and also free.
