Replaced Memory Now Windows Say it is not Genuine
I replaced my memory to upgrade to 2 Gb. When Windows XP Pro booted, it said that I needed to validate my copy of windows. When it ran through the routine, it said that it was not genuine. It is genuine. I have the disc/licence etc and has been fine for years through upgrades etc.
I can't find anything on the Microsoft site on how to fix this. It just keeps trying to sell me another copy!!
It is probably being made more difficult because I dont have broadband access. I use a 3G card in desktop.
Please help - Thanks

Are you able to use the computer?
If you can get on-line try to Validate here:

Troubleshooting here:

There was an issue last weekend but it was supposedly fixed on Saturday.
If all else fails give them a phone call.

I had previously tried to validate on line and it said that I had an invalid copy of Windows - which I didn't. It also only gave me 3 days before Windows would expire - worrying!
I emailed support and (not sure if this is connected) but have just had a new item in my system try that invited me to Validate my Windows (in addition to the failed to validate icon). I allowed it to validate on line again and everything was OK this time. PHEW!
Thanks for your support with this.

Glad all is well and thanks for the update.
As mentioned there was a server issue over the weekend as seen in this thread:
