Im considering buying a laptop from ebay from a recommended seller- it comes with no OS.

Ive never heard of tha before! How do I get an OS on there? Do I have to buy some discs?
How much would it cost for XP?

Since it is a used computer, it is likely the user is using the license for Windows that came with that laptop on another machine.

You can get Windows XP Home OEM for £51.04 inc vat. Note the OEM version is typically sold WITH a hardware purchase - often something as little as a cable, RAM, or drive. Check with the retailer. The only difference between the OEM version and the Retail is cost, and a fancy box, and sometimes warranty.

Note also that you will need all the hardware drivers for your laptop - make sure the seller is providing the disks for that, or that you can download them from the maker.
