Question My voice on my MP3 Player

    Hi guys

Was wondering if any body can help me with something I want to do.

I want to record my college notes onto my computer and then somehow transfer that into an mp3 file to put onto my mp3 player

Is this possible? I figure I must need a program that can handle me talking to it and recording it then somehow change it to an mp3.

Any ideas of programmes to use and if possible would be really appreciated.

    Regards
    Yummy

No problem to do this at all. Here's a guide:

    1. Get yourself a decent mic. Don't get the cheapest one you can find but something reputable from a company like Plantronics or Logitech

    2. Download a copy of audiograbber from here: http://www.audiograbber.com-us.net/ This is a great application that I once paid for, but luckily for you has now become freeware. Get the LAME MP3 DLL while you're there and be sure to put it in your audiograbber directory after installation.

    3. There is a "Line In Sampling" menu option that will record from your mic plugged into your soundcard. Before you choose that be sure ot put a tick in the MPŁ box and change the settings to the bit-rate you want

Hey presto MP3 files of your voice ready to transfer.

Yes it refers to the quality. Higher bit rate means better quality and bigger files. 192kbps is a good quality for music IMO although 128bps is actually "official" CD quality. For voice recordings you can get away with as little as 92kbps or even 64kbps. Try different rates and see which is acceptable to you.
