    Mp3 player won't connect

I have Windows XP and have just bought my first MP3 player. It is a Acoustic Solutions model which is associated with Argos. According to the instructions all i have to do is plug in the USB cable and it will automatically work. On plugging in the USB cable i get a "found new hardware" wizard box appear. But it doesn't connect properly. The wizard box just flashes and i can't click on "next" at all. Then a message appears saying the software hasn't loaded properly and your device won't work properly.

    Hope someone can help.

did it come with a cd? on the page for the product it says it comes with a software cd. Make sure you pop that cd in and run whatever installation program there is on it. If you already installed it, uninstall it through the add/remove programs panel and reinstall it.

double click on My Computer icon on desktop and see if a removable drive is listed

That small cd is probably the driver for it. I would recommend putting it in your computer and running the program thats on it. If you open your disc drive, you'll notice that there is a little groove the size of that cd (called a minidisc).
