    Outlook rules not working properly

    Hi there,

I have been using Outlook Express for years despite my son telling me to move over to Outlook because it is a better program with a lot more useful features.

Well I moved over today because I like the idea of the calendar in Outlook.

When I first started Outlook it asked me if I wanted to copy all the emails, rules and address book from Outlook Express and I chose to do this. All seemed fine at first but I now find that some of my email rules are not working the same in Outlook as they did in Outlook Express. For example:

I set a rule to move an email to a particular folder if it has xxx in the Subject line or yyy in the To line, and this works just fine in Outlook Express but in Outlook it has changed the or to and.

When setting the rule in Outlook Express the and is clickable so that you can change it to or but in Outlook it is not clickable and I can find no way to change it.

I have quite a large number of complex rules and I really need to find a solution to this. Does anyone know how I can change the and to or in Outlook?

Thanks in advance for your help

I am using Windows XP Pro and my Outlook Express is Version 6 while My Outlook is Version 2003

    regards

    Brian

It's not possible to do this in a batch operation - it's a case of editing each rule.

Tools>Rules and Alerts>locate the rule to change and double click it>edit and save. If that doesn't work, go back to Outlook Express and xport the rules then come back to Outlook Express and Import the rules via the above access route under Options
