I have a Microsoft Works file I'd like to send to someone asking for a Word file.
Will they be able to open it? Yes, I know this is a newbe question.

    Thanks for you help
    Dave

More recent versions of Microsoft Word can open the Microsoft Works word processor files, assuming that the converters were not excluded during the Word installation. To open a Works word processor document from Word, open Word up, select the File menu, then Open. In the 'Open File' dialog, click on the 'Files Of Type' drop-down list and change the file type from 'Microsoft Word document (DOC)' to 'Microsoft Works word processor document (WPS)' or whatever similar item is in the list.
