Premiere Pro 2.0 no longer working
I was having problems with codecs, so I installed the XP codec pack on top of the Ace Mega Pack. That only made things worse and I was forced to remove every single codec from my computer and reinstalling them, along with QuickTime 7 Pro.
What ended up happening was that Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0 no longer runs. When I try to run, at first this screen pops up as it is supposed to:

Then the "Initializing Application" changes to CompilerQuicktime.prm and as soon as it changes to CompilerVfw.prm, it crashes with this message:

I have absolutely no idea how to fix this. I've been troubleshooting it for the past 3 hours with no success. Everything else is working perfectly, all AVI, MPEG, QuickTime videos are working flawlessly.
I tried reinstalling, but it made no difference. I would greatly appreciate some help.

I found this:
http://www.moviecodec.com/topics/6413p1.html
According to the information there, there is a Core codec that causes this. Well I checked the dashboard and I didn't even install that codec. I just uninstalled the pack and CompilerVfw is still crashing. I removed it and Premiere 2.0 starts fine but will give an error and close if I try to create or open a project so I had to put it back.

Still not working, god damn it. Reinstalled the pack using the "Just Play" preset. I disabled the Core codec as was advised and Premiere is still not working.
Nargh!

First of all, I grabbed myself the Codec Tweak Tool thanks to my friend.
I used it to pretty much disable everything and Premiere started working again. Then I re-enabled a few things and tested my video files. MPEG is working perfectly, same for AVI and Xvid and DivX. A few random unimportant WMV clips aren't running in WMP but it's of no importance, as long as the big guns are working.

So is this problem resolved then Captain?

Glad all is well. Thanks for the update (and the Desktop)!
