I have a Tivo Recorder and a regular Tivo with only a hard drive. I have a PC connecting all three of these in a Network so I can transfer files from anyone to another. I need to send files to my PC to save off to DVD-RW discs and this is where my problem starts.

When I copy to these DVD-RW discs on my Pioneer unit, all is fine, can record over and over with the same discs just fine but when I try to use one of these that has been recorded on this Pioneer unit and erase or format on my PC so I can record it won’t let me. I’ve tried Windows, Sonic and Nero Express and have NO success, it just pops them out and gives different reasons from each program. I know these same DVD-RW discs worked just fine when they were new, something that Pioneer machine is doing is stopping me from being able to Format on anything else.

I called Pioneer and they were defensive and didn’t even try and help, just told me it was my problem. Did tell me it records in “RAW” format but its got to be Copy Protecting someway that is causing this problem, well that’s my best guess.

Does anyone know of a Format Program that will Format these DVD discs so I can use them on my PC? I don’t get this at all, one would think that Formatting a disc no matter what was on it would be easy, after all, I'd be removing everything, not trying to copy it!

I have a new HP Pavillion PC with Media Center OS.

Thanks but no, I read others were having similar problems but there was nothing to fix the problems that I could see.
