Does anyone know how I can turn off the really annoying little help icons that keep cropping up in Word 2007?

They sit there for several seconds right on top of my text, and nothing I do seems to be able to get rid of them.




With previous versions of Word it was the irritating paper clip that drove people mad but they have now put this other thing in there.

I am using Word 2003 so I cannot guarantee it is identical in 2007 but...

Try this:

In Word go to Tools > Options then hit the Edit Tab and deselect "Show paste options buttons"

They've nicked the Tools menu....!

Thanks for your suggestion D-A-L but the interface in Office 2007 has totally changed from that of 2003. I must say I like it but am still finding my way around and one of the things I havn't found yet is the Tools menu.

Does anyone know what they have done with it?
