pdf995 settings
I have learned that the PDFs I've been sending to our newspaper (for ad placement) are not usable, and they must reset the ads each time. Yes, it would have been nice if they'd have told me about this problem long ago!
It's after hours, so I can't ask them anything - but I need to build a new ad tonight to turn in first thing in the morning. Supposedly it has to do with screen fonts vs. printer fonts.
Can anyone tell me what settings I need to turn on or off? I am using pdf995.
Thanks!

Hi Opus88. If this problem still needs resolving, the following information may help. I also use PDF995. You can change the settings by going to Start Menu > Printers And Faxes > PDF995 (or Start Menu > Control Panel > Printers > PDF995 if you are not running Windows XP). Right-click the virtual PDF printer and choose Printing Preferences. Click the Advanced button. Against the entry for 'Truetype font', choose the "Download as softfont" option. Click OK in each screen to save the settings. Then produce another PDF in the usual way and ask the ad people if that's any better for them. If it's not, you'll need to look at producing your PDFs using a different tool as PDF995 doesn't have any other options.
