I have been using AVItoDVD and it was working just fine and being freeware/shareware was a plus, i just hated the time it took to convert an AVI file to DVD.

So I purchased WinAVI v7.7.... I havent been able to get a working conversion in 4 attempts, all different files. The finished conversions after burning with Nero 6.0.0 has no sound at all, and a thin green bar on the right side of the picture only.

I've been reading alot posts in different forums but cant find a fix for my problem other than using a different program. Alot of people are saying its just garbage. I emailed their support with no response as of yet. Can anyone help?

Why did you get 4 different files on conversion?
Did you set 4 different options or are you just clutching at straws and trying anything?
You need to convert from avi to mpeg-2 and then use a DVD authoring program or convert straight to vob filkes which you can then burn directly to dvd (So long as they end up in a VIDEO_TS folder)
Better read the instructions/help again and at least convince yourself you know what you are asking the program to do.
Then post me some more details such as input file type, options selected, output file type and options.

Mabye I was unclear in my original post. I mentioned that I tried converting 4 different files (all were AVI) and I was attempting to convert them to DVD.

Since that post I have managed to get things working properly. But thanks for help anyway. It seems that uninstalling my old codecs and installing a new codec pack did the trick! Must have been a conflict somewhere, but all is good now. Thanks!
