Are you connecting the USB (or firewire) between the camera and the computer with both powered off? Then booting the computer?

Does the computer upon booting into XP detect new hardware?

hi there, thanks for the reply. I have just tried that but to no avail. The light still keeps blinking at me though. Have tried this on different usb ports and different computers. I have also changed the power managment settings on the ports, as advised by kodak, but that doesn´t work either. Any other ideas?
    Thanks

Can you actually see the camera in My Computer when it's plugged in via the USB? Does it show as a removable drive?

No the camera doesn´t appear anywhere. You don´t get found new hardware or anything. Kodak say if it continuously blinks then it is installed correctly but where. I have tried searching when it blinks but nothing. I am beginning to hate this camera. I have never had a camera problem before and have 4 of them

OK, process of elimination time You need to see if you can install it successfully on another computer. If you can't - send it back and get a working model - I throughly recommend Casio actually

Thanks. I have now tried it on another desktop and a laptop. It doesn´t work on either. I think I am probably relieved by your answer because I have had hours of frustration with this camera. Do you recommend any particular Casio?
Thank you for all your help.
