    Files not showing up.

    Hello readers.

Todays exercise is called: Why can't I see the files and import them?

Scenario: You want to import a picture into a design program, (Google SketchUp). You closed the design program, then saved said picture, (.jpeg) into "MY PICTURES" on your D drive. You then reopened your design program, went to the "FILE" drop-down menu, clicked on "IMPORT", a window with the title of "OPEN" opened, you then found "MY PICTURES" on the D drive, and, low and behold, the files where not there. You checked that, show all images, was in the box. No files. You then put, show all .jpeg files, in the box. Still no files.

Now you have gone to "START", "MY COMPUTER", drive D, "MY PICTURES", and there they are. So you go back into the program and repeat the above procedure, and nothing.

Do you know the answer? If so, please write it below with the solution.

    Thank you for participating.

    ATB Gary. And good luck.

Are you sure no one knows the answer.

I really need to get these pictures into the design program. I know that it can be done, I just can't figure out why I am unable to see the files when they are there.

Sounds like you've got how to use the Open or Import dialogs pretty well covered My thinking, therefore, is from a slightly different angle. Have you tried dragging and dropping one of your JPEGs from Windows Explorer into the Google SketchUp window?

(Sorry if that obviously couldn't work - I've never seen or heard of Google SketchUp before so I'm just guessing that it's like Microsoft Paint or Photo Editor!)

Tried that thanks DJ. Doesn't work.

    Thanks for the input.

Any suggestions will be greatly received.

    For the DJ:

As to your issue I am searching but at the moment only find this:

    http://sketchup.google.com/support/b...y?answer=36217

I was using SketchUp but cannot currently verify tests or results as that hard drive passed away the other night.

    The basic Help is here:

Just a sleepy thought as the sun is rising is the drive/partition differential. It should not be an issue but just as a test try saving an image to C: and see if it works.

The thought being that this program cannot transcend drive letters although your computer obviously can.

    Hi jepfree.

I had tried the c: drive, but no files.

I have presently got a request on the SU help forum.

Not to worry though. All is well.

I don't know why, I haven't done anything, but whenever I upload a image file everything is in place, except for the first ones which are still for some reason hidden, (but in there properties there not). So whether the web page people had done something to the images so that they can not be used I don't know.

Thank you all very much for your help and time. I hope that this has',t been a waste of your time.

    All the best Gary.
