Excel Data Entry Divides by 100

    Hi One and All.

When I input numeric data (n) into existing and new MS Excel spreadsheets, the entry is registered into the cell as n/100 ,and the data entry bar also then changes to the number n/100.

Can any one suggest where I might start looking to stop this division by 100 taking place, please?

Hi DJ, you need to highlight the cells or rows, choose format cells, number and scroll down the list to see what is highlighted. If you just want plain numbers with no calculations choose 'general'.

    Hi Tassie Devil,
    Unfortunately this doesn't work.
The data entry format is number with 2 dec places. If I enter an integer then the data is /100. If I enter with a following dec point ie nnn. then this division does not occur.

    HELP HELP HELP!
This division by 100 is still occurring occurs on all entries unless the decimal point is also entered. ie:-
    Entry Display
    100 1.00
    100. 100.00

I'm in some trouble with existing spreads that exhibit this on cells that had the uncorrupted previously entered data.
So perhaps some global entry /100 function exists and has been inadvertently set to <ON> ????
Any assistance most appreciated as it's beaten the best of my IT guys!
