annoying problem with ntfs4dos's chkdsk program
Hello there. I brought a copy of ntfs4dos from avira formerly datapol.
I tried asking them for help but they were stumped
When I run their chkdsk program, it searches for the windows\system32 autochk program and runs it, then I immediately get "corrupt master file table, chkdsk aborted"
I have 2 80 gig seagate internal hard drives.
When I load chkdsk normally from within windows, the check runs without a problem
What could be causing the ntfs4dos chkdsk program to trip over?
Please Please help.
Thanks

Are you having any problems with the computer/ hard drives?
When you run chkdsk /f from the command prompt in XP and choose y to run on re-boot does it run OK?
What is your purpose in running this ntfs4dos program?
If chkdsk /f runs from the XP Command Prompt then there is no disk problem but most likely an issue with that software.
If that error were legitimate you'd have a hard time using the computer if you could at all.

No the hard drive doesn't have any problems
if I do a chkdsk /f from within windows and then reboot, the chkdsk runs without a problem.
All the ntfs4dos chkdsk program does is enable the windows\system32\autochk.exe program to run.
