Unhappy Adobe Premiere Pro 7 problems

I'm new, and I did a brief search for any related threads, and didn't find any, so excuse any repeat.

So I recently got an HP Pavillion a1450n. I have 2.93 GB of ram, and everytime I try to run Adobe Premiere Pro 7, my computer restarts itself and has an error message that pops up upon restart that says the computer has recovered from a "serious error."

I have tried 2 different versions of Premiere, I've tried uninstalling, and reinstalling, I've tried system restore, then reinstall, I've tried everything and can't get it to work. The first version of the program I installed worked fine on my old computer which was a very cheap computer my cousin put together, and it also currently works on my brother's e-machine.

I've tried working with the support people at HP, and they weren't able to help me, but they offered to let me pay $60 to talk to the advanced support people, but I said no thanks, although I'm getting pretty desperate as I need access to this program to continue several works I have in progress.

I just hope someone could please, please, please help me with this. Thank you.

    Hi Adam,
I presume you mean Premier Pro 2 (There isn't a 7 to my knowledge?)
You don't say what type of processor you have. Is it a Pentium 4?
Premier Pro needs something called "SSE2 support" which not all cpus have.
    Is it an Athlon processor?
If so, have a look at this link:

Thank you very much, Ford, I appreciate the help and feedback.
