I set up an adsl router fo a friend. The ISP is Demon.
The guy had been using a speedtouch modem as supplied by Demon.

He said that since he had had broadband with Demon he had been unable to send any e-mails which had an attachment.

I tried to send a 32kb file, and I got a time out error. Something like the server has waited 60 seconds do you want to continue to wait, and this was the message he was getting.

Any ideas?

Do emails send successfully if they don't have an attachment?

Yes, e-mails with no attachments are sent with no problem.

Strange. That suggests that the mail server, username and password settings are all correct but check out those links just in case.

I presume that you've tried different file types? If not, then the best test would be just to write a couple of lines in Notepad, save it as a TXT file and send that - no-one would try blocking a TXT file.
