    Unhappy Photoshop Elements 4.0 woes

Help...I am having troubles with Elements 4.0 and I tried to "repair" the program by inserting the CD. During the install process, I get a window that says to "insert disk 1". Here's the problem, I have a CD no disks, yet I cannot get past this window. There are two choices, 'insert' or 'cancel'. When I select 'insert' nothing happens, when I select 'cancel', the installation stops at that point. Ergo, I cannot 'repair' any potential problems. The specific problem is when I try to send an email from Elements with a phot attached. The email pops up with the attachment, but it does not send it. In the 'From' area it says "nonspecified Sender". In order to send the document, I must forward it. I wnet to the Adobe hep site and that was a joke. I've also checked all of my preferences and reset everything to the default. It still does not work. Any ideas?

That tends to suggest its an email problem, not Elements. In the from box of the email do you see your name? If it is blank click on the down arrow on the right side of the box and you should see your email address there. Select it and then try sending it.

Actually, it turned out to be a Microsoft problem (XP) that the Adobe folks had a patch for. I contacted their technical folks and they helped me through it. I actually have both Elements 2.0 and 4.0 on the same machine and I could email just fine from 2.0 but not 4.0. My email service was unaffected as well. I had tried to 'repair' my installation but could not get past the point where the wizard asked me to insert disk 1 (I have a CD!), so I contacted Adobe directly and they helped. You can find this fix on the Adobe Web Forum topic 333059-complete instructions are there for the fix. Thank you you replying!
