New Mail Notification

    Pleeeeeeeeease can someone help

    How do i make the computer check for new mail every two/three minutes or so. I'm not great on computers so please explain in the simplest terms possible. Thanks

    Hi and welcome to D-A-L

    If you're using Outlook Express, open it go Tools>> Options>>General>> you should see check fo new messages every 30 minutes just change the 30 to 2 minutes

    Tried that as i'm using e-mail through the internet (Microsoft Outlook Web Access - Microsoft Internet Explorer. Go to tools but only get Internet options(delete cookies etc.)

    Try getting Gmail; afterwards you can download Gmail Notifier, which I think notifies you after a few seconds of recieving an email.

    I am unfamiliar with this product but did find this in searching:

    These may only be Adminstrative settings from the Server ... I am not sure

    I've never implemented Outlook Web Access but I understand that it allows you to see your emails on your company's email server (Microsoft Exchange) by using a web browser such as Internet Explorer. In that case, you don't actually have an email program - you're just viewing a web page. Most web-based email such as Hotmail, etc. will need you to use Internet Explorer's Refresh button in the toolbar (or press [F5] on the keyboard) or there may be a link titled 'Refresh', 'Reload', 'Check for new messages', etc.
