i am trying to erase some dvd-rw`s with nero6 but keep getting message power calibration error my dvd writer is a pioneer dvd-rw dvd 106D could it be my writer at fault or is it something else that is causing this thnx for any help

Are you sure your DVD writer is OK?
Have you tried erasing one of your DVD-RWs on another system?
You need to isolate the problem to the discs or the writer.
Also, you could try writing a new file on top of the old one, Nero should go so far then say "The disc is not empty, do you want to erase it now?"
