    incoming mail server problem

Every time I turn on my computer and go to OutlooK Express to check my email I have a problem. When I click on Send/Receive, I get nothing, and I have to go in and change my incoming mail server from 127.0.0.1 to what my ISP tells me it should be. I click Apply, and it works ok until the next time I go into Outlook Express, then I have the same thing happen again. I've been told by McAfee that it has something to do with my Spam Killer from them not being configured properly, so they tell me the steps to make that change and I do them, but it still does the same thing. I'm using Windows XP Media Center edition, Outlook Express Version 6, and the McAfee Spam Killer is version 7. Can someone please help me resolve this? I would appreciate any help you can give me. It's getting extremely frustrating!

    Thank You.

Yes it definitely sounds like McAfee Spam Killer (or even McAfee's anti-virus program) is getting involved in trying to check your mail and messing it up. I've seen similar problems with Norton Anti-Virus. You should disable or uninstall McAfee Spam Killer (and anti-virus if applicable) to test whether that sorts it out - that won't be a great solution but at least you'll know what the cause of the problem is. Only do this for as long as necessary to carry out the test - don't leave yourself without anti-virus protection for any longer than you have to.
