Hi,

Within the web browser toolbar there is an icon (generally displaying the 'word' symbol). This option allows you to edit with either word, excel, notepad and export info to the selected program eg I could export some numbers to excel.

My browser does not have the option to 'edit with excel' yet most of other computers around me which are set up the same have the option to edit with excel.

Does anyone know how I can get excel as an option with this icon????????

No-one here seems to know (after many fruitless menu searches ).

If you go to view/toolbar in IE and choose customise toolbar you should get a list pop up. Scroll down til you get to the edit webpage icon or look for an excel icon in there. You can then add that to the toolbar.

Thanks for the info. I've tried this one. There is no excel to select in the customise list. If I delete the icon and then add it again - same thing - I have word and notepad to choose from but no excel. Maybe its a setting in excel?

Good idea. Have a look in excel options like the pics below and see if these options are ticked.

If you right click on a table in Internet explorer do you have the option there to export to excel?

Yes but it doesn't export all of it. The document has a header table which outlines parameters. Then theres a bunch of lines of numbers underneath. It only takes one or the other. ie. in effect you have to do 2 lots of exports. I know with the other option (icon in the toolbar) it grabs and exports the whole lot at once.
