and i can't get it back! I don't know how it happened - neither here nor there at this point - I tried to go into Programs/PC Tools/Software Wizard. It gave me the "Application Recovery" option and further allowed me the option to reinstall it (since it came pre-installed) - I ran it, it said it was reinstalled successfully. It lied! Of course, there's no desktop icon, and it's not listed through Programs. Using Add/Remove it doesn't show there either. However, it is seen using My Computer. So, I deleted it from there and tried again to reinstall - same scenario - this time I went to WExplorer and double clicked the .exe file and it said it couldn't because something was missing.

Got any ideas? I was going to just find another word processor program or office suite (was looking at OpenOffice.org) --what do ya'll think?!

Do you see a setup.exe?

Another possibility is to restore the computer with your Recovery Disk.

There is usually a choice between a Destructive (Clean) and non-Destructive (Repair) Installation.

The latter would save you files/ settings/ programs. The former would reset the computer to factory settings.

Perhaps others will have ideas on alternative programs (WordPad is all I need ).
