Hi I need to clarify something. Can you connect a domestic VHS recorder to the computer. I have a lot of videos that i want to convert to DVD. I have been looking through the forum for an answer but i am finding conflicting views. I am running windows XP with pentuim 4 processor

Not directly without a capture card, Firewire or USB device.

Which one you choose depends on what your intended end-use is. The lower down the scale (and probably the price list) you go, the poorer the quality of the captured material.

many thanks for your reply, how do i know if i have any of the suggestions you said. i have cables for s-video i have used them and i got audio but no picture. do i need to set something on the computer to obtain a picture?
