    Excell

A friend has e-mailed me a spreadsheet. However, when I try to open it I get the message, xls: file format is not valid.

Anyway of getting it to open?

    Many thanks in anticipation.

Just to verify: you want to open an Excel file but you do not have Excel on your computer?

    If so see this post:

I do actually have Excell on the computer. Is it possible that my friend e-mailed me a spreadsheet created with a different version of Excell?

    Kind regards and thank you.
