Hey I was wondering what a good program for editing video is. It don’t matter how much it costs thanks. I want to be able to make some sweet montages and windows movie maker just doesn’t cut it any more, now that I know what I’m doing.

The top end application is probably Adobe Premiere. This links seamlessly with other Adobe products (Photoshop, Audition, After Effects, Encore, etc). There's a cut-down version, Adobe Premiere Elements.
Another one used by the industry is Avid. There's a free version available (also cut-down).
Other choices are back in the realms of domestic use; Pinnacle & Ulead offer various apps.![]()
I started with Video Studio and found I grew out of that pretty quick. I moved onto Avid Free DV http://www.avid.com/freedv/index.asp and then invested in the full application Avid Pro HD 5. Avid is a great editing system and its used by pro's thourghout the industry to create some quality productions.
I would DEFINATELY recommend Adobe After Effects. It is really useful and full of features, and has been by far my mainly used vid editing program. The sheer amount of things you can do in this program are incredible. You can see some of the things me and another guy have done at www.jhnet.co.uk/video - please email me with comments!
