    Linking Access to Frontpage web

I am having problems linking an access database to a frontpage website where i need to enter information which searches and updates the database. Do I need to rebuild the database in frontpage or can I use the existing one? Thanks for any advice I am just going round in circles.

Thanks for responding. It is a straight access database at the moment.

    DavidJP,

Sorry that you haven't had any solutions to your query yet. I think that Access databases on web sites are something of a rarity these days. I've never linked a web site to a database myself but I know that most people that are doing that these days, on a small to medium scale at least, are using MySQL. MySQL is a free database, based on the concepts of Microsoft SQL Server, the enterprise-level database system that has effectively seen Microsoft Access phased out of almost all businesses.

You can get MySQL from http://www.mysql.com.

    Hope that helps

Thanks for your response. I had heard the same thing, so I found someone who knows what they are talking about who will redevelop it in MySQL.

    Thanks again,
    Regards
    David

Cool Amongst other advantages, SQL runs faster than Access so it's definitely the way forward for modern web sites
