hello..
I have xp, sp2
free space averaging 2gb on all my hard disk drives
nero 7
i have data of 720 MB waiting to be written, so i bought some 800 mb cds.
the built in utility by win xp , as well as nero insist the cd is having a 703 mb capacity.
is this something that can be remedied via some setting changes?
thx
I think Nero may have an overburn feature that you have to enable for it to burn 800 MB discs
well, i tried overburning it to 89:59, but nero insisted that there was not enough space on the cd. ie, even after specifying the overburning feature, nero did not burn it.it says that the cd has oly 703 mb of data. the cd says 800mb, 24x on it. i have tried speeds of 4x too, but no success. i have tried it with other 800 mb cds too.Originally Posted by brain_damage
i'll try another brand and come back to you tomorrow.
is there some issue of compatibility of cds and nero?
I found this discussion interesting, because I had a similar problem with Nero software and DVD-R discs.
If I had a movie (in an .mpg file) that was very slightly longer than two hours running time, Nero reported that it was too big, and the program was also unable to compress the file. two hours seemed to be its limit.
Now, my ULead software doesn't complain except when a movie runs over two hours and twenty minutes.
I couldn't figure out how to get around this, but I will look for that "overburn" switch.
