Everytime I start my computer the software for my ADSL modem creates 2 shortcuts on the desktop. How do I stop this from happening?

What is your operating system? If XP go to start/run msconfig | startup

Uncheck the modem software. It is probably just an updater & or monitor. It is most likely not necessary for the operation of the modem. If this change creates a problem you can always go back & recheck the program(s).
