    low resources

I have read the thread on low resources from fishy. Some of it I understood, some of it is over my head. I get the same message when I log onto AOL, low resources, close open programs but I can't find anything open. I do the ctrl/alt/delete and there is a list. I know part of it is AOL related and part is related to my printer, a Hewlett Packard. The others I'm not sure about. If I delete all the printer related programs, I have less of a problem and rarely get the message. I do close anything on my taskbar that I don't need but I am so frustrated at not being able to stop it from loading in the first place. Can you help define what is loading in my ctrl/alt/delete screen? I don't mind deleting them every time I want to go onto the internet but I would prefer to do it permantly and forget about it. I know I need more RAM but $$$$ are tight these days. I have Windows ME... I read your comments. Again, it's dollars right now. I'd appreciate any help. I'm not a computer wiz but I can find my way around. I don't always understand the lingo.
    Thanks in advance

You can go to start/run and type msconfig to open up the startup programs. Click on the startup tab and uncheck the items you dont want to load at startup, see here. If you're not sure what you want to load you can research items here.
