outlook address book
Help if you can please!!
I've had to rerformat a computer but before doing this i transfered the whole of the hard drive on to my hard drive (in a seperate folder) so i didnt lose any data i wanted to keep. Only thing is the address book when i've moved it back after reformatting it has cleared itself. Does anyone know if there is anyway of getting the addresses back.
I still have the address book located on my computer but when i open that it seems to open up my contacts.
Cheers
Phil

We are talking about Outlook? As opposed to Outlook Express?
The Address Book in Outlook is Contacts. All data is stored in
the Contacts Folder, part of the PST file in which all Outlook data is
stored. You'll find an Import and Export... command there.
Also if you highlight your Contacts folder and right click, select
properties, and then the Outlook Address Book, click on the option to use
that folder as an Outlook Address Book.

sorry my fault it is outlook express not outlook.

Search the entire folder in which you backed up the other PC's hard disk for files named *.WAB to double-check that you aren't opening the wrong one. The Modified Date/Time is usually the indicator for which one you want to be looking at if you have multiple copies. Once you have identified the correct Windows Address Book (WAB) file, try double-clicking it in Windows Explorer.
Let us know whether that helps (or whether that's what you've already been doing)

dont actually have any wab files just 2 wab.exe's
