Adobe PhotoDeluxe HE 3.1 - Default Mail Error

When I open an image with Adobe PhotoDeluxe HE 3.1, the first time I try to work with the image it says...

"Either There Is No Default Mail Client or the current mail client can not complete the messaging request. Please run Microsoft Outlook and Set A Default Mail Client"

I've re-installed this program three times and solved the issue each time except this time I just can remember how!? I'm running WinXP for my OS.

    Default Mail Error

Question: I am using Adobe PhotoDeluxe Business Edition. When I click on an activity in this program, I get the following message from Microsoft Outlook: "Either there is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot fulfill the messaging request. Please run Microsoft Outlook and set it as the default mail client." When I go to the Default button in Microsoft Outlook, it is grayed out and cannot be activated. I could use some help.

Answer: This problem crops up from time to time with third-party applications that use Outlook as your e-mail application. The cause is a corrupt Outlook registry key.

To fix it, you will need to edit your Windows registry.
Click on Start, Run then type "reg-edit" in the Open box and hit Enter. In Registry Editor, locate the following subkey in the registry: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Clients\Mail\Microsoft Outlook
Select the subkey, and then press Delete. Click "yes" and exit the registry editor.
Now start up Outlook and on the Help menu, click Detect and Repair. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the repair, and that should do it. As always you should consider backing up your registry before attempting to edit it. Just in case something goes awry.

..this also worked with Home Edition!!

    Hello jephree,

I'm having the exact same problem with PhotoDeluxe, but running version 2.0 with Windows XP Professional and MS Outlook 2002, although that is not my default mail client.

I'm unclear about exactly what steps to take after running regedit, then arriving at the Microsoft Outlook folder. Within that folder are three more folders, and each of those contains an additional one or more folders. When I click on the MSOutlook folder itself, the right side of the window contains 7 items, each a different name.

What exactly do I need to delete? The entire Microsoft Outlook folder, or only some or all of the things contained in it? Your advice is exactly what appears in the Microsoft on line help, but that leaves me short of what action to take next.

Thanks in advance for your help!
