ipod question
my brother gave me his old ipod and i was wondering if i can use it with my windows 98 computer IF i use windows media play to put music on. i know windows 98 can't support iTunes, but is there anyway i can use the ipod with my older computer? he didnt give me the cords yet so i cant play with it to see if it will work, but do you need a cd-r drive to use an ipod? i tried the site but got impatient when i couldnt find my needed info.
the thing is awesome and i hope there is a way... even if i have to use someone else computer. help please! you guys are great.

this will tell you how to set-up/config a 98 install to work with an ipod. 98 doesnt have the usb drivers that are needed, so you need to do some tweaking.**you may want to ignore step 1 in the tutorial - i think its just to get you to download some trial software and so may have spyware in**
You can then use ephpod, which will work as long as you sort the windows-98 driver issue out - http://www.ephpod.com/ - i use ephpod as its more versatile than i-tunes and doesnt come with all the crap that i-tunes has
You may wish to consider using vpod too - the 98-supporting vPod beta software is here - http://www.vonnieda.org/download.jsp.../vPod-0.03.exe
