Excel 2000 on a Windows XP machine

Installed PTSFULL.exe
Using the pivot table and pivot chart wizard in Excel
select External Data Source and PivotChart report (with pivot table report)
Then select GET DATA
Select the tab for an OLAP cube
At this point you get the option to name your source and select from a drop down of OLAP providers this box is blank instead of containing (Microsoft OLE DB Provider for olap services 8.0)

Can anyone shed any light on what is going wrong with these 2 machines

I don't know what OLAP is, to be honest, but, if you're finding that data access drivers are missing, you might want to search for the latest version of MDAC (Microsoft Data Access Components) at http://www.microsoft.com/downloads.

Incidentally, I'm moving this to the Desktop Applications board for you as that's where the people that know about Excel will be hanging out

It worked i downloaded the newest MDAC (version 2.8) and then installed and ran OLAP and it worked, thanks
