Hi

I have been trying to get good quality video capture from a Analogue Source without success. I have a Fusion DVB-T Plus with Composite/S-Video Inputs, have all the lastest drivers and cannot get the quality the my eyes can live with. I have used the software that came with the Capture Card, as well as trying Ulead and several other leading software's and they all come up short. I kind of want to operate this process like a Digital VCR and I am patient but need help. Could it be a hardware problem? The S-Video cables are about 18" in length to maintain a good signal. Are the Quality of the cables of great importance. The source is from Cable/Satelite Set Top Box, so I assume the quality is excelent.

I have been looking at some off the shelf DVD/HDD Recorders and some of the have component inputs (YUV and RGB), can I possibly get a capture card with Component inputs rather than composite/S-Video. Would this not improve the quality? Is there another way (other than Capture Card) to get a video signal via component into a computer and onto the HDD.

You see, I don't have the money to buy one of these devices off the shelf, so I am trying to get by with what I do have. I am a student with limited means. If anyone out there could suggest something to help me I would be so very greatful.

Cheers
Tony
