    Transfer from VHS to CD

    Hello,
Does anyone know the exact cord/wire that I need to hook up a VCR to my computer so I can capture the VHS tape? If possible, please give me a link to where to buy it. I have a new Dell and am running Windows XP.

It basically depends on your graphics card & its' configuration.

My ATI All-In-Wonder has a Video In that takes my Video Out from the VCR.

It was supplied with an adapter that takes the (red; white; yellow) RCA plugs & incorporates them into a single input plug.

    What card do you have?

    Your current graphics are on-board.

Card name: Intel(R) 82915G/GV/910GL Express Chipset Family
    Manufacturer: Intel Corporation
Chip type: Intel(R) 82915G/GV/910GL Express Chipset Controller
    DAC type: Internal

In order to do what you desire you would need to get a graphics card.

As I mentioned the ATI All-In-Wonder series has these features but there are many things to consider in choosing the right card.

If you want help in searching: what is the make & model of the computer?

From Dell I get conflicting info as to your graphics card:

Graphics: The new 128MB PCI ExpressTATI RadeonT X300 SE graphics card for a true to life video and game experience.

What is listed in the Device Manager under Display Adapters?

    go to Start/Run/ devmgmt.msc

    Hey

What is listed in the Device Manager under Display Adapters?

    go to Start/Run/ devmgmt.msc

We need to know exactly what your graphics device is:

dxdiag shows: Card name: Intel(R) 82915G/GV/910GL Express Chipset Family

whereas Dell Dimension 4700 says: 128MB PCI ExpressTATI RadeonT X300 SE graphics card

If you do have that card we need to find the specs on it & see if it has video ports.

If not we need to find a compatible add-on card that will.

Apparently dxdiag was detecting the chipset on that card rather than the card itself.
I am finding it hard to get detailed specs on that card although I do see it has TV Out.

Can you describe the back of the card? Next to where the monitor is plugged in there is a S-Video cable port; are there any other ports?

Also do you have the ATI Catalyst program installed?
If so is there a TV option?

    Under devmgmt.msc it shows:
    Intel(R) 82915G/GV/910GL Express Chipset Family
    It shows that entry twice.

I do not have the ATI Catalyst program installed.

    Thanks.
