    .rar files

Am trying to help a friend with this so bear with me.

My friend collects old movie clips from various sites and I mentioned news groups as a source. He found one but a lot of the files are in a .rar format which we've been told needs to be combined into a viewable format. I've searched the net for some sort of decoder/combiner type program but have come up empty

Someone in a group told him there are several free ones but we've come up empty handed. Freeware would be nice. can anyone help. TIA

This first link is freeware compatible with NT/2000/XP
I know it extracts .rar although I am unsure if it has a combining function.

This other has a "free" Trial. I have heard that it will indeed extract & combine.

    Hope this helps.

I went with your second option and it does work. Thank you very much.
