i use a win 98 SE with all updates installed.
i used to access my hotmail on outlook express 6. then once i had to shift houses, and therefore, also had to permanently shift to a new pc.
that was fine. but i had to take all my emails to the new pc.

being very "smart" i did the following things.

i found out the location of the "inbox" folder my outlook express used to store my mails on the hard disk.

i wrote that folder onto my cd

i copied that folder into my new pc, overwriting the corresponding folder in the outlook express 6 here in the new pc.

so the result was as follows:

outlook express now says that the contents of this folder cannot be displayed.

question:
can i recover my mail messaqges from the cd?
