I connect my panasonic camcorder up to my pc via usb cable and either play footage or record and the picture on my pc screen is jerky.I have changed the capture settings various times but i am still unsuccessful. The editing suite is Ulead 7 and the capture is always 15 frames per second ,could you possibly help

Does the camera have a DV Out port on it?

Yes the port is next to the usb port

Thats the port you need to be using to take Digital Video from the camcorder. You will need a Firewire card and cable though, Ulead 7 should then recognise the firwire card fine and you will be able to rip good quality footage from the camcorder.
