That unholy "Insert" button
I have had the computer automatically turn on insert while typing in Word many times. I would like to know if it is possible to stop insert from ever turning on agian. Thank you in advance.

Can you clarify? First of all this is within Word?
Is this some option from the Insert tab on the tool bar?
Can you post a screenshot of this button?
Here is a good little tool for that:

It's not insert its "Overwright". In the bottom of the document it has REC, TRK, EXT, and OVR. When you press the button on the keyboard labeled "Insert" OVR becomes blackened in. The insert key is by the "Home" and "Delete" key. Sorry.

Insert is meant to toggle on/off overwrite.
You say this happens automatically?

At least it seems to, IDK how my finger could accidently hit that button that often by mistake.
But is there away to turn off overwrite completely?

The only thing I see in Word is the option to change the shortcut key:
You have to go to Tools/Customize, click Keyboard, select All Commands
and Overtype from the lists, make sure the "Save changes in" box says
"normal.dot", put the cursor in the "Press new shortcut key" box, and
press (new key). Then click OK and, when you exit Word, allow it to save
normal.dot.
